What are you babbling about? Listen up, I'm gonna spell it out. You read binary from right to left.
The rightmost digit represents 1, the next to the left represents 2, the next is 4 and so on.
If the digit is a 1, you add the number that it represents to the total.
And trivium, I thought about putting that quote in here, but decided against it.

101010?
From right to left,
0 = 1,
1 = 2, 0 = 4,
1 = 8, 0 = 16,
1 = 32
For wherever "1 = x" (x being the value) add the value to the total
Look at the underlines, 2 + 8 + 32 = 42, and there is your answer
Edit: Thanks for explaining it to me previously paaiyan.

I'll give you a hint on account of number 8 being totally ridiculous.
Do you know what "!" means in a programming language?
Also, it's not the letter "T" they're referring to. (How is it pronounced?)

Man, the only languages I know any of are actionscript, html, and css.

"!" means "not".
"T" is how it sounds.

Edit: oh.. good job
I'm going to leave this hint here anyway for the poor souls that might still need it.
No.
I can't really think of how to give you a hint without giving it away...
err...
The answer will also be a good source of Brownian Motion?
