Hope you guys are still interested...
After a weak...I mean week of sickleave...I was urging to get back into the build..
Hands and wrists ache a bit but that didn't stop me...
Welded and shaped the front barrel support...
Changed/adapted the hammer...looks way better...
welded up some internal supports for the action, as it was putting some strain on the bolt by skewing.
Worked wonders..
Replaced the nut on the back of the bolt for one that pleases the eye a bit more...
I tried to fit a wooden handle to the existing frame...but ...I wasn't satisfied with the result.
I want a clean joint between the two materials...so I went to work..
Check out the pics.
I'm thinking about leaving all the " battlescars" from the welds...I think it adds character and gives the impression that it's way old.
The lows I mean. The highs will be filed smooth.
Oh and do comment...it's what keeps me going ya' know..

I would if I could actually see anything...
Just kidding, great stuff!
Looks more and more like a badly photographed Girandoni restoration project every day

ah..I feel better now..
I would if I could actually see anything...
Would you believe I use the focus function?
Never knew about it's existance before MrCrowley's bad batteries excuse though...
It might be so fuzzy 'cause I was standing to close to it...hmm...
I have to resize the pics anyway so I might try taking some photo's from a little further away and then enlarge the section I want to show...

The brass part is a combination of a couple of fittings and a lead ball...
Not really looking like that anymore though...
That's what angle grinders are for see.
The main part mostly had that shape though.
It's bulky because it needs to pack the same wallop as the steel hammer...wich was both bulky
and ugly..
Looks more and more like a badly photographed Girandoni restoration project every day
The girandoni rifle is always there in the back of my mind.
It certainly was during the " Shatterhand" build.
After I finish the rifling machine I planned I was kinda thinking about doing a copy...with some ( make that a LOT) of my own input that is.
I love both the reloading action ( allows for homemade slugs!)as the hammer action.
In stead of hitting a valvestem...it pushes it.
The thought has crossed my mind of combining his system with this valve..

Yeah, I don't think it's a case of not using macro. It's not like you're trying to take pictures of small objects. Blur could be from lack of light, dead batteries, moving the camera while it's taking a picture or a combination.
When using macro, some cameras will focus macro only when zoomed in others will focus macro only when zoomed out.
Anyway, nice piece of equipment

Fooking schweet.
I regret not seeing and commenting on this earlier. It seems I always miss good guns whenever I take a hiatus from checking SpudFiles.
Good to see a counterbalanced hammer valve. But while you balance your spool valves, I'm still looking for easy ways to unbalance mine.

Now please make a second version that is a hybrid hammer valve, just so Gun Freak will make a hybrid! Come to think of it, a hybrid hammer valve... Sounds fun.

more progress:
Tried to get better pics but this is the best I can do, even with additional lighting..
You'll see what I mean by a " clean joint" between the steel and the wood.
This would have been impossible with the prototype handleframe.
I also took a side by side of the hammer and a similar fitting I used to make it.
Bottom was filled by a plug, then cut and tapped to m6 to fit the steel part of the hammer.
It used to be a 1/4" fitting...
Anyway.
you can also see the right side wich is a little less clean.
Those are the battlescars I referred to.
Laquer is still drying.Just applied it.
Edit:
Now please make a second version that is a hybrid hammer valve, just so Gun Freak will make a hybrid
If I was trying to please everybody I would have to make a hybrid out of epoxy with some push to connect fittings....that tops Larda's creation in performance and can fire both semi automatic and full auto with 6 rotating barrels wich can be swapped with a rifled/ suppressed barrel set-up able to take out a zombie from 4 miles away yet still be admittable to a paintballgame.
I'll just do what I do best...

That's not homemade.
You bought that.
