My First Pneumatic (Help Me) (With Pictures)

well... a bit of bad news. WE didn't do so well in the competition placing fourth. In the first trial we pumped it up to 90 psi, but then left it to sit for about 40 minutes, a pretty stupid move. When we shot it, we had taken out the gage so we didn't know what psi it was at, but we estimated it to be at appoximately 25, and the puck only went about 60 meters. Our second trial was much more successful, as we once again pumped it to 90, but didn't leave it. Unfortunately, it was a very windy day, so when we shot the puck, it went too high and got stuck in the wind. Still, it easily went the length of the lacrosse field 110 yards, and had it been a calmer day, everyone agreed it probably would of gone a field and a half. Any way, this trial was the second farthest in the competition. our last trial was a complete disaster. By this time, we had managed to break every pump we had (6), except for one that semi-worked but was incredibly inefficient. The result was a weak 37 meter shot. The competition was a major disappointment, but the experience was amazing. In case you were wondering, the winner used a boat crank to crank back a truck spring where the puck was placed, and then cut the string. It worked very well, but was a bit cheap in my opinion. Thank you guys so much for all of your help and i know me and hotrocks will definitely be looking into making some of our own spud guns. Thanks again!

i reakon u should pumpit to about 250 PSI im pretty sure ur air chamber will hold

Well, the competition is already over, and no offense, but "pretty sure" isn't good enough. I've heard that shrapnel is a little bit dangerous.

e ball valves are fine. they may not be fast opening but half of the spudders first pnuematics are ball valves.
