Realistically, even with a locked breech, given the calibre and size it's not going to be more than that, but it's enough for my purposes :)

For better power I'm best off developing the hybrid cartridges further, which would also remove the need for an on-board air supply.

edit: a-a-a-a-almost there :) but the flimsy magazine broke, moar Araldite!

edit 2: here's the shot that wrecked the magazine, fail but I love the spent cartridge flying out dangerously close towards the camera (and actually hitting the tripod...) :D

I encased the base of the magazine in epoxy in the meantime, more testing tomorrow :)

Now to modify another cartridge to see if it will go full auto :D

YESS!!! :D
Did you fire the second one? Was it even loaded?

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

WIN!!!!!!

With constant airflow, it not only rechambers a new round but fires it too :D

Very reliable too, works every time! Here it is from various other angles at 420 frames per second :)

The plan now is to modify a couple more carts for some longer bursts, then make a "proper" launcher without the ghetto breech and mag substituting rubber bands for springs etc.

Ah, the clatter of spent brass, you should see the grin on my face :D

Ahhh SUCCESS. Great job!!! How about a real time video? How fast is the ROF? How loud is each shot? How's the power? hehe this is sick, hopefully it will work again when you make the proper model. :)

Hey Jack the second video still isn't working, there was probably an issue during uploading.

Is there music in the second video? They cross check them if so...

Nice win Jack.

It doesn't take 3 hours to process normally.

Well done, good to see some dakka dakka with brass.

I even stopped being a tight ars3 and watched the video.

Could you adapt a FN FAL mag or any other 7.62 X 54 mag and use that to feed it?

You'll have to choose a more difficult project next, perhaps a minigun version?

It's for my own good ;)

This is to answer your first 3 questions ;)

Power isn't spectacular, it will go through the bottom of a soup tin quite happily but not much else. To be honest though the flying brass means I'm not too bothered :D

Not unless I change the way the bolt strips a new cartridge from the magazine, I fear it doesn't have enough power to do so.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves ;) putting this together neatly is more of a challenge for me than a minigun version!

Works great!!
looks like crap

Maybe you could remake it with some durable materials?
