Hmm have you tried using flash? Perhaps someone with more camera knowledge than I can download the photo and check the details which tells them the exposure, focal length, ISO and other settings used to take the photo. Your camera seems good enough to take decent photos without blurring.

I'm green with envy for this gun, great work! I think a nice brass cap of some sort on the end of the wooden handle would help its aesthetic and pistol-whipping appeal

I had already planned on putting some brass endcap on the handle.
now it looks like ...garden shears...

I don't think I have anything laying around at the moment that would work though..

I was just focussing on the joint for now.

Front grip being made...

The only piece of wood ( chip of the old block Shatterhand was built from) I had left that was big enough was badly battered...

Used it as a back stop or target many times cause it was so strong...
So I had to get the piece with the least amount of dents or nails with caulk tube tips still stuck through it..

I already restored some of it's intended shape using the sawdust from the handle I lathed last night..and woodglue...
This got me a paste in just about the same colour of the wood...and once hardened it's even stronger than the wood itself.

I need to do at least one more layer as this stuff shrinks A LOT!
I'll finish it smooth and laquer it same as the other piece...

Looking mighty " zombiekiller" at the moment...

I can't tell you how badly I'd like to put my rifled .177 barrel on this.
Why?

I have an 80mm beast I never fire..no room for it.
I have a 16mm ( Shat') powerhouse that can blast through a fridgedoor..
Never fire it cause of the noise.

This one is turning into such a sweet launcher I'd like to use it at least weekly.
Unless someone can locate or send me some .43 rubber ballls or paintballs I'm pretty much condemned to using 10.9mm lead balls..
And I just know I won't be happily plinking with those.
Way too expensive to go through a couple of hundred rounds a day...

Plus a thickwalled steel rifled barrel seems better than a flimsy aluminium pipe for a barrel.

The magazine could be a lot smaller too.

I don't really care for power, as long as it goes clean through steel cans...
The more powerful launchers just sit in the shed...

Plus I want this thing to last a lifetime...something to pass down to the boys...

What's stopping you making a 0.177" barrel insert?

Like ...a barrel insert...an interchangeble bolt and a magazine insert?

Not really what I had in mind..

I just know that if I don't use that barrel for something as nice as this I'll end up using it for something that would break most rules here.

Hmmm...found a local source for 10mm roundballs....and hydraulic seamless tubing 14mm outside, inside exactly 10mm...

Seems perfect....
Much sturdier too.

I could also go for 9mm and 12mm outside-9 mm inside but the balls are twice as expensive....damn shinsungs!

I know you said "local" but I recently found that grade 1000 steel metal balls are rather cheap... and hard. I'm thinking of picking up 25 1" balls for only $18 shipped to my door from amazon.com Perhaps you could find a similar deal?

The unfortunate thing is that grade 1000 ball bearing blanks only hold a tolerance of .001" in diameter... oh wait.. we're spud gunners lol.
