I did some shooting this PM all flash, 3.5% BP, results:

- Test Mix20: I doubled the rupture disc, the explosion was contained ...

- Test MIX10: Explosion, strong shot and good impact in the galvanized steel of 2mm thickness, by level against noise, it's a fart fly ...

- Test without projectile MIX10: fair game, the disc is put through ...

What are you using as a burst disk?

these are the discs that I use to Elurick.

HGDT he puts on the chamber pressure is 76bar and 150bar at MIX10 to Mix20! so you have a rupture disc for good solid performance!

Is it louder in real life? I know I've fired my small hybrid off a cliff on a very windy day and not heard much more than a huff but it seems like yours should sound reasonably loud in that environment. Is the camera microphone blocked by the tripod or anything?

I ask myself the same question, granted it's a fairly long barrel but still...

That's pretty good performance though! I have a book at home about black powder weapons and they do some testing against 2mm steel, I will see if I can scan the relevant pages so you can compare :)

I just remembered that my chrony-breaking shot was so quiet that I thought something had gone wrong until I noticed the gun had moved back about 80cm and the video gave the impression of a powerful shot.

Must be something to do with wind and open areas. I can't remember the direction of the wind from the other day but it was windy, though I was down there again today and while still windy the shot was quite loud.

Maybe 'cause he's firing in a ditch coated with lovely noise absorbing grass?

Hello!
noise is not louder in real life, when I was shooting at 3m and without ear protection.
Yesterday there was no wind ...
I did a test at MIX10 out of the ditch and the noise is the same.

Al-xg gave me this link:

ThorJack for this may be the same!

Possibly, here's some theory: http://guns.connect.fi/gow/arcane1.html

I really think the lack of noise comes from this theory.
If I remove the barrel, it makes a big boom!
By cons I have to redo my Mix20 electrodes because the arc does not happen with my ignition flash.
I'm making an ignition with ignition coil, spark models, one with a spark plug filament ...

That circuit will not work at drawn.
Where did you get that diagram?
