Ok, on-topic discussion over.
Commencing off-topic.

Peta just managed to go even more insane recently;

I think I will now go cook and eat

I'm now designing a piston hybrid. I want to use a system similar to
this, I want to fill it from behind the piston. As it looks now, it will have an opening pressure of 1.3 times the pilot pressure, and that's far to low in my opinion. I can gain a few hundred joules by upping the opening pressure.
Wow that is low. Opening pressure is about 3x the pilot pressure in my hybrid. I'd figure a way to require a pilot pressure of 300PSI or less for a 10x mix. It isn't difficult finding a decent sized track pump to go up to 300PSI.
What's your seat diameter and piston diameter? Also, is there a pilot system? If so, what method are you using?
Edit: Today i'm 20.
This is what I built when I was 16. It's made its rounds on the internet, 'tis unfortunate my piston hybrid hasn't
Edit 2:
2007 I made the SGA (first piston cannon)
2008 I made the VAL (better built piston cannon)
2009 I made the M480 (first hybrid)
2010 I made Mjollnir (first piston hybrid)
I guess those were my 'big projects' back in the day. Doesn't seem like I can top Mjollnir this year

I guess I made some
"decent little projects" way back when I was 14

. Age really shouldn't be considered a huge factor in this hobby..

Holy crap, why can't all the younger members be as mature as you? I swear I brought this up in chat a few weeks ago when you and a few others said how old you all are.
Just thinking about the hybrid I could have built with the $2000 i'm sinking in to New Years (goddamn peer-pressure)

MrC, I thought about what I could build with the $1500 I'll be sinking into firearms.
I then decided that a .303/.30-06/7.62x54mm/.300 win mag is a more entertaining choice.

Apparently some of the

They've used
pigeons for drugs, this is taking it on a whole new level!
I have a great idea... it would require someone in the US to buy a gun for you, put it on ardupilot controlled version of
this and set the plane to drop the cargo at GPS coordinates you provided.
You'd have to find ways of making it "stealthy" though, the
YO-3would be good inspiration.
Once you can do that, the potential for mayhem is enormous, you can see why they clamped down on
this. I digress, don't want to find myself on some watch list
a mix of pornography and graphic footage of animal suffering.
Surely there are a number of people who will actually enjoy this?
This is a common enough fetish to warrant a wikipedia article.

It could well look like this:

*keep clicking links
*pig getting sawed apart with chainsaw
>bigger boner
... and peta would have made it happen!
çunts.

I am disappoint.

How the USA can eliminate the debt in one year..
Everyone pays their fair share. If everyone paid the same federal tax as Warren Buffet, the problem would be over.
Your new tax for this year is;
Buffett, the 81-year-old chairman and chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., said his federal tax bill last year, or the income tax he paid and payroll taxes paid by him and on his behalf, was $6.93 million.
When he retires, I hope he gets his fair share of Social Security. He paid more than his fair share.

Even though I don't know much about it, I kind of support the slightly higher taxes for the rich. The poor are poor enough, no need to make them poorer. The extremely rich are richer enough, no need to make them richer.
Edit: I'm talking about the very rich (making over 1-2 million a year). There was a good video somewhere that showed how a slight increase in tax for the rich over 10 years was equal to taking half the assets from the bottom 50%. And you have to remember that there are a lot of benefits for the very rich in America built in to the system, all the people with power are more or less rich.
You guys (tax paying Americans) bail out with 700 billion dollars massive company's that are in debt while telling the poor to get on with it, they've made their mistakes in life and should pay for those mistakes. Doesn't really sound fair.

On a totally new subject. Find out where the falling satelite will be. Are you at risk?
I found in the next week that will be overhead here about 4 times. Most passes are over me for less than 10 minutes. If the time to fall are within any of these times, I might get to see it. The passes will be from Hawaii, pass overhead, and off into Canada. If it falls on the 23rd, it won't be near me at all. Now I know to hide on the North East side of the mountain.
Edit, added the website.

Research can provide better info than the news outlet that says it can come down anywhere..

Statistically it doesn't seem worth worrying about...

Exactly. While the chances are roughly 1/3200 to hit a person, the chances that it hits you is probably 1000x less than you being killed tomorrow by any number of mishaps.
People go years without winning the lotto and those odds can be a mere 1/32,000,000 or so.

That probability seems a bit high, given area of average person vs earth's surface area, and that people are not fixed objects and can be in any number of places at any given time... or is that a 1/3200 chance of landing in a populated area? Still seems a little off.
