it does not work?
I did a lot of research and I do not remember where I got it ...

The Wiki shows a how to.
I will do a correct diagram for you!

it's nice!
thank you !

Here you go, some sabots for your 8mm BALLS OF STEEL!

Excellent!
Steel will take full teeth!
Super power of penetration!

The problem is that this design won't really separate. It's probably best if I make some in three parts, one "pusher plate" and two "petals" to hold the ball. That way you will have a better change of recovering them for re-use.

If the ball is lightly glued, to the output of the barrel the sabot will go, no ?
3 part is more complicated and lengthy to make...

With the force of the acceleration, the ball will dig into the sabot and will not separate.
Not too complicated to make a three part one, I have a slitting saw on the mill

not today though, got some other stuff to work on.
In the meantime, dug up a test on 2 x 2mm steel sheets with a 1540 0.50 calibre black powder musket.
This is the second sheet, at 1150 feet per second the lead ball penetrated the first sheet and dented the second (the two shots at the bottom of the picture). The top two shots were penetrations of the two sheets with an increased powder charge at 1330 feet per second.

the difference is astounding and low ft/s separate them !

Don't forget:
In this case, the second shot is 16% faster, but it has 31% more kinetic energy.

Effectively!
is the speed to the square !
Also the act of taking a lighter projectile increases its speed and therefore its kinetic energy...

Not necessarily,
this is my favourite quote on the issue

I have read and many factors come into play for the penetration of projectiles!
.50 cal my bullets are pure lead and so much deform on impact but it melts a hole in the steel of 2mm!

Here is a correct wiring diagram for a 12 VDC Automotive Type Relay.

Not necessarily
Which reminds me,
http://patator.frbb.net/t9874p420-blabla-libre#255834 pretty interesting results
Ah nice clear schematic dewey-1 !
I reckon the steel post PetitLu is shooting at is harder to penetrate than a flat plate of the same metal and thickness.
