^I needed some thick aluminum for the chamber ends on my pumper

It's going to get cut up, sanded and soldered into a nice clean assembly.

Some of you would have already seen this but I mentioned earlier in this thread I would upload a video of the barrel incident:

Damn! Nice! I wish I could get that sort of stuff free. Take it to your local scuba store (probably tons of them in your area...) and ask them how much it would be for a refill.

I don't think they'd refill it, it looks like hell :D

Plus I think you need some sort of certificate to get it refilled, like it has to pass inspections and whatnot. The sticker on it says it was approved in June of 2011, but I bet that was pre-falling-out-of-a-truck :D

If I were you, I'd at least swing by a scuba store and ask them about it. Like how much repairs could cost and if it's salvageable.

Appreciate the input, guys. There's a dive shop about a mile and a half away from me, maybe I'll swing by there and ask them about it. I have a buddy who is a professional diver so he might be able to fill it for me, or at least tell me if it's usable. Anyone know how much a fill is? I remember Tech saying something a while back about high pressure oxygen being dangerous as a propellant.

Yeah, I would stay clear of filling it with oxygen. Not sure if you're able/allowed to get it filled with CO2, nitrogen, air or helium but they would be much better options than oxygen by a long shot.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. If I go to a dive shop, I don't think I could get a CO2 fill :tongue3:

Gun Freak, at my local dive shop its $10 for 4,000 psi in the huge scuba tank. I asked if it was alright if I brought a big welding cylinder in, and the woman said yeah but I would have to haul it to the compressor and back out again. But for $10 that's a hell of alot of air.

Dunno what to use this for, but it was a dollar so I bought it.

Nice find. Fit it on a sprinkler valve or breech of a piston cannon. Better than a blowgun and cheaper too.

Note on the tank above, a place that inspects and certifies cylinders should be able to replace the valve for you. It should be about $100 to replace it and complete the hydrostatic test.
