do you mean i dont put the fluff in first?
I'm loading it at the back of the barrel, where it connects to the blowgun. if i loaded it the other way they would come off the nail. I now make these with pins with a head on, if im just doing target shooting.
I put a blob of hot glue on the top of a fluff ball, push the pin through to the end.. i do that again aswell.

Search man....Btw I can't find those fluff balls.End up using cotton balls and screws..but the screws rip the wool off in mid flight.

Fluff balls should be available and easy to find at a Michaels or something. Just about most craft stores have em.
I know hot glue's used as the cone, I'm just not sure how to cast them accurately. Yes, I've searched

to mould my cones i made a hot glue mold out of aluminum parts i found at a friend's place of work. (he let me use his lathe to make the parts....)
basically, i squeez in some hot glue, then place the top of the mould onto it and let it cool. then i remove the top part of the mould, and a cone comes out on it, a little rough-edged but a cone nontehtelss.
i also found today that a peice of those string popper things works as dart cones.
if you know what im talking about..... they are cone shaped, and have a string at the bottom. when you pull the string, BLAM it goes off and sptreamers go everywhere.....
well, inside of those are these little black plastic things that are used to direct the flow of the blast outward. they fit perfectly in 1/2 inc copper, and already have a hole in the top to insert the nail of your choice. i have about 20 darts made this way, and they are all the same, and its great to be able to have 20 darts, with the same aerodynamic qualities..........

Thanks. Unfortuanatley, I don't have a lathe... The popper things sound promising though. I might have to try them out some time...
