Just how I see it...
Signatures are a way to provide a representation of yourself. They are not intended to cause controversy or offend anyone.
[The signature rules]
I had always interpreted this mean all controversial topics should be avoided. You have to admit Pete was provoking a sensitive topic.
Personally I disagree with ones signature, or posting abilities being used as a political podium (on this topic specific forum). And I would have thought that the rule was in place to prevent any potential differences. Regardless of subject matter.
I believe this forums lacking potential originates in disregard for the forums topic specific nature, and the level of maturity.
Unarguably a PM (Private Message) would have been the best means of handling the situation, but provided with the members low post count the member may have been unaware of the ability, or accepted procedures of this forum.

That is bad bad news. I almost got into legal trouble with a right-wing Christian group. Something about
internet vandalism...
Do I want to know what you did, or should I just leave it alone?
yeah leave it alone. I really did nothing. 4chan on the other hand... well they happened to be there the same time I was.

Pete Zaria are you above or below the average aged member of this forum?
If you have graduated from high school you may have a very lucrative lawsuit.
It looks like they didn't teach you much.
Please read the following website and fix your signature.
As for the rest of you twelve year olds, have fun blowing yourselves up
Just to let you know, we don't have many 12yo members, well active ones anyway. If you're American you should know everyone is open to their own opinion. Personally I have no idea what being impeached is,and frankly I don't care.
Why would Pete get taught about George W. Bush in highschool? If that's what they taught at your school, chances are its run by the Bush regime.
Would you have a problem if I said
"Get rid of Helen Clark now! Is 150 less fighter jets and $5 billion in debt not enough?"
Well first, you would have no idea who she is. Second you wouldn't care, and third im intitled to my opinion.
Just grow up and learn not everyone thinks like you.

lets face it, your sig touches on a much more controversial subject but no-one gets it so it's fine

I suppose pimppman has a good point - the rules do state that signatures are "are a way to provide a representation of yourself. They are not intended to cause controversy or offend anyone." and my signature, arguably, would cause controversy and/or offend people. I tend to be an outspoken political activist and use any medium avalible besides my car's bumper to voice my opinion.
If anyone besides this pasturepatrol dude is actually offended by my signature, please let me know and I will change it.
Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Why do I have a feeling we will never hear from this guy again. I bet he felt all warm and fuzzy inside about what he said against pete and his sig.
Still, I may not agree with your sig pete, but I respect you and your right to state you opinion. It might cut down on the conversation if you changed it though, since politics seem to be a touchy subject for many people.

I'm not offended, I feel wuite the opposite.

Personally I'm more offended that someone would suggest that you don't have the right to express your opinion freely.

I love how people, (anyone, not just right-wing fundamentalists), just think they can pop in, tell a well-respected moderator he's stupid and wrong, tell him to change his signature, and then log off. He goes and grabs a cup of coffee from his 70$ Starbucks machine and never comes back, a happy puppy...
I agree with everybody else. This is America. I sympathize with PVC Arsenal 17, from what he's saying. Although I don't think internet vandalism stands a chance in any court in the U.S., you never know.
In the off-chance this guy comes back, (1,000,000:1), I'd like to say again that this is America, (at least that's where this site is based, we've got plenty of foreign members). We're not obligated to do anything for a member with one post who just popped in to give unbased criticism for somebody's belief. I can put something like "Support Vladimir Umyolv, this years Marxist presidential candidate", and you know what? You can't do anything! Maybe I don't agree with his signature, but I can't just PM him or make a thread in the website discussion section telling him he's wrong and to change it.
Have fun thumping your bible elsewhere.
BTW, Pete, I don't think anybody is offended by your signature. There are many who express the same opinion here in the U.S. Do not change it. Like jack said, I think most people are offended by somebody trying to boss you around to change it.

Just keep your sig the way it is. Normally I would agree with it, but I'm not sure impeaching them both would do much good at the moment. What we really need to do is.. ahem "Flush" the entire house and senate and start over.

Can I still blow myself up if I'm 14?
Anyway, I agree that Pete can keep his signature. Maybe I'm just biased against George Dubya Bush, but still, it's his opinion, and he can do whatever he wants with his signature. In a way, you could say this does represent him in his views, so I don't see a problem with it. Pete Zaria is entitled to express his opinion just as much as you are.
Pasturepatrol, I hope this isn't the sole reason you joined spudfiles. Not a very practical use of time if you know what I mean. By the way, what website are you referring to? I didn't see any link.
As to them not teaching us much in school, I could very much agree. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but thanks to No Child Left Behind (by Bush) our school is struggling a lot because we have to get all our special ed kids up to snuff, which isn't working. Because we have to devote so much money to them, our other
practical programs are drying up.
Anyway, I hope this all gets sorted out. Welcome to Spudfiles.

Your sig is somewhat purturbing to me, but leave it. I think only morons and certain other people should have to forfeit their right to have an opinion, and you don't fall in that category so have at it. You have your opinion, I have mine, that's cool with me.

Maby it's my imagination, but this guy Pasturepatrol didn't come here and spam/advertize his site or to join in our hobby. So ask yourselfs, why did this person register to post a post like that?????? Trying to stir things up about our hobby for political reasons maby??? Some kind of activist??? Alot of members are hitting the voting age??? It is rapidly approaching election time. What is the motive for a 1st post like this??? How old is Pp??? Did him/her draw the short straw from thier group of buddies and then sat and giggled like little school girls while writing the post??? Huh? What is it Pp? Why did you really post this against Pete??? Are you some kind of George Bush supporter??? If so, must suck having your job rite about now!!!

just like gepard said "don't feed the trolls"
btw: richard nixon was never impeached.
walter nixon was impeached for perjury to a grand jury.
