Would this be better than a regulator?

I bought it, it is a regulator, make sure when you buy it from the store because they will give you a free 9 oz filled co2 tank, on top of the empty one it comes with one filled it comes with 1 empty tank and the give you a .

i don't think the regulator could explode due to the burst disk considering the burst disk is on the tank(in case of over filling or heat spikes).

i got it for my portable vortex gun i'm currently working on.

one thing to keep in mind, is that after a couple of times using it, the regulator had a slow leak as soon as you screw in the cylinder, it wont leak out of the system but through the regulator. for example, if you had it hooked up to a air chamber even if the regulator is off the co2 will slowly leak into the chamber.

this is due to the regulator spring inside, but can be fixed easily with a new spring or putting something behind the spring to put more tension on it, just watch the gauge for a the meter to keep running after you turn the regulator down best thing to do is unscrew bottle if this is happening its not something you should worry about just keep it in mind. also this may have just been a unique experince for me idk its a new product

20 oz paintball tanks are like 14 dollars, and 4 of those is about 5 lb worth of co2 and can be refilled at paintball stores and fields(sometimes for free) and sporting good stores like sports authority or dicks sporting goods

when i said explode i meant the regulator itself not due to a pressure spike but due to poor construction i guess, its just plastic isn't it. it was probably caused by a sudden shock or impact though (being dropped or something) i don't remember who i heard it from.

<a href="http://www.beveragefactory.com/C5.shtml">the 5lb tanks</a>

<a href="http://www.beveragefactory.com/742HP.shtml">the co2 reg</a>

i only have one complaint the reg says it will go to 130psi but past about 110psi with excessive air use (a vortex bbmg) it becomes very cold and seems to weaken the spring in the internal safety release just enough for it to trigger. not a good thing when you start spaying co2 off your back in the heat of an airsoft battle, it just so happened that was the first day i had used the system and took me a while to figure out how to turn it off

the bottom line - don't go above 110psi with this reg
Could a normal paintball store refill this?
