Yes you can have a metal plug... the steel ones on mcmaster seem to be going for about 3 times what the PVC ones go. Personaly, I wouldn't recomend steel - I'v noticed that their threads are rather rough, and would probably abrade PVC rather effectivly... but the brass ones are definatly out of your price range. (122$ for a 4"!)

My regulator on our 33 gal compressor is at 0, cant go higher. It stays at 0 psi, dial does nothing. I think the piston/ diaphragm is broken. Ideas?
