I plan on using small pieces of sheet metal.

i have also removed the asa fitting off of a co2 tank. i did the same thing with mine that he has done with his just without the burst disk part...
the way i did it was i wrapped my tank in a towel and my vise has two sides 1 side is regular and it turns to a side made for pipe and stuff so i put the tank in there and used a big crescent wrench to take off the asa fitting...
