As long as your input is Faster then what your out put is you wont have a problem.

In my auto loader i manage this with a regulator 4 Qevs and a 4way Solenoid to manage everything. 2 Qevs manage Charging the chamber. and the other 2 Manage the firing. The Solenoid is what manages The charging and firing of the solenoids, When the gun is being fired it shuts down the charging solenoids so it doesnt waste air..

a little complicated but it works and I belive you mean that the output of the relif valve is faster than the input

one good system is a piston valve or qev filled and acuated by a 3way solinoid with is activated by a presure switch

I'm making a system to power the actuator pneumatically rather than a electric presure switch

by input i mean what ever is filling the air chamber. By output i mean how much volume you are sending to your cannon in the dwell time your valve is open.

2 of the QEVs i use are Triggers for opening the other 2 faster.

QEV1 1: Solenoid 2: Air Source 3: Chamber
QEV2 1: Solenoid 2: Chamber 3: Barrel
Solenoid 1: Air Source 2:QEV2 3:Qev1 4: exhaust

State
Waiting
Flow:
QEV1: Flows 2-3
Qev2: Flows 1-2
Solenoid: Flows 1-2 and 3-4

Firing
QEV1: Flows 1-2
Qev2: Flows 2-3
Solenoid: Flows 1-3 and 2-4

Simpliefied version with out the other 2 QEVs to speed up the trggers.. As i use 1/8th Solenoid due to price. In this system your Dwell timer is exactly the same as your Charge timer.

The solenoid is powered by 3 9-volt Batteries, and i get about 10k actuations on it.

that is really a bit over the top man you really don't need a 4way and 4 qevs
when a 3way and 1 qev works fine heck with that you could make a double barrel opposite acting gun

heh sorry, That actually is for a double barrel gun...

For a single you need 1 4 way and 2 Qevs..

I don't like that relief valve setup on QEV and piston valve, I think its best for sprinkler valves or spring loaded valves that can be filled from the chammber
Could you explain why you don't like that setup, and why you think it would be better for sprinkler/spring valves?
