ALrighty! I'm going to cast some lead into an old 12g CO2 cartridge and stuff it in the good ol' Negotiator 3! Maybe I will try a large bolt in my combustion gun as well.

If I can fix my little pneumatic I'll try and see how many it can shoot through.
It's too cold outside for my ghetto combustion gun, so I can't use it. :(

I think it would be slightly un fair comparing say a sprinkler valve marble gun to some piston cannon of JSR  plus it would be a b*tch for you, you'd have steal a milk truck just to get enough bottles

I just lugged out my HPHH and attached the 12' barrel. This shot was at 450 psi with a 150 gram steel dart. Muzzle velocity was between 450fps and 530 fps, depending on how fast I opened the valve.

JSR: the backstop was a piece of 1-1/4" plywood, with an air gap behind it, and then a sheet of 3/4" plywood backed by 1/4" plate steel. Happy now?

That's a nice gun there Tyler- what pressure were those shots taken at?
Pity about the way the nail entered the last jug, would of gone straight through i think :D

@Nova: yeah, I just kind of threw together what I had lying around. The thick plywood seemed to do a good job of stopping it though. I think that the non-discarding sabot considerably lessened performance, but it still had at least 1000 ft/lbs of muzzle energy. Pretty good for a simple ball valve gun.

Now, if only the burst disk cannon would work...

This would surprise me seeing as the .357 in my avatar, even with some hotter loads would only penetrate seven jugs of water. Although these were hollowpoints.

To be exact, they were 110 grain semijacketed hollowpoints with 10.0gr of "Unique" behind them, average of 5 chrono readings was 1,735 fps (my personal favorite load). I sure as hell wouldn't want to be on the business end of these.

I'd try this with a spudgun but I doubt I'd make it through three... Maybe next sunny day I'll try it.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.
