ok maybe 300ft may be hard but 200ft should be do able easily with a little hop-up, some one in the uksgc site said that if i cut my barrel at a 45degree angle then i would get a small amount of hop-up, i think he mean this way / but it could have been \ so what do you think, would it work?

and JSR that EBC thing says my gun will shoot 300ft flat... and the tool i found here http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/ar ... .htm#range says that it should be shooting 405ft from 1m up before the bb hits the ground so i'm guessing on a still day that would in practice be ~350ft so i don't think 300ft is that un-realistic, although keeping the bb flying straight could be hard... so i might have to use a .22 rifle pellt or a plastic bag sabot.

That calculator is flawed and massively optimistic since it assumes the BB does not decelerate at all, and with BBs air drag is a massive factor.

For example, a typical 0.5 gram 4.5mm air rifle pellet fired at 1000 feet per second will already slow down to 700 feet per second at 150 feet. An airsoft BB weighs less, and has a frontal area 1.8 times bigger, meaning it has a much worse drag co-efficient, so the drop is going to be much much more pronounced.

A muzzle brake is primarily useful at either reducing recoil by propelling the gasses rearwards towards the shooter, as well as reducing muzzle climb by directing the gasses upwards.

There are things called air strippers that uniformly remove the muzzle blast for accuracy reasons, that look something like this inside:

Edit, i removed the silencer and porting from my mini only to find that the accuracy droped from say 10 to 4. i think that an air stripper would work (drill holes in barrel tip)

A silencer is effectively cutting down on the muzzle blast so it works as an air stripper, as well as mitigating the recoil.

i am putting the 6mm barrel inside some 15mm copper and using barrel supports to keep it straight.
