i'm pritty happy with the outcome i'll probably will re-do the elbows after i have some real fun with it.

and the hose is off now to keep ppl at bay..

Everybody makes such a big deal about reducing pilot volume by eliminating the hose but since your sprinkler is on the top it would be uncomfortable to hold. it might be like 5% less efficient but it will be much more fun because of the comfortablity. Just leave the hose on unless your obsessed with getting the maximum efficiency

They could be pressure rated, I think BC said some brands of fittings have that ring on them that makes 'em look like DWV.

ok on the end of the elbow it has "Blah Blah... and i see a circle that says NSF and a P in it but then to the right of it it says dwv... so that means that i'm screwed right?

That means NSF-Potable I think. Which may be OK, i'm not as familiar with Americans fittings so i'd wait for someone to confirm it.

The P does mean potable. When they say NSF-PW, the pw means " potable water."

i'm pretty sure that the nsf-p is ok for pressure i think, and the fact that it says dmv on it means that it is also ok to use in drain waste and vent applications but the fact that it says nsf-p on it i believe means you're ok. and as far as reducing your pilot volume i'm not saying eliminate the hose all together all my pnuematics have a hose, but not a freaking 2 foot hose. use a hose and place the gun where it is comfortable but use the shortest hose possible plain and simple a 95% efficient gun that is comfortable to shoot is better than a 100% efficient gun that isn't comfortable.

thanks for the help, the hose was originally 1' and now i have held the cannon about 50 different ways and am now comfotrable and have trimmed it to about 5"

Also, I would check your 3" cap, coupling, and bushing as well. While they look to be pressure rated from over here, if you got them from Lowes or Home Depot, they're more often than not DWV, (past 2").

Oddely I have yet to fina a non-pressure rated end cap for 3" and 4" diameters at homedepot or lowes, everything else is dwv though. Lowes should have pressure rated 2" 90 degree joints, the guy was just stupid.

Nice cannon. Couple things could be improved on a little (already been mentioned), but it still looks like it got some power to it.
And the elbows are dwv, The socket depth is to short for any pressure rate part and I have some elbows with the same stuff written on them and I know they're dwv.

Guys, and NSF rating is a sanitary rating. It only implies a pressure rating with potable water because most PW systems are pressurized.

Look for an ASTM rating. It should say something like "ASTM D~~~~".

Do you notice a quicker response when you hit the trigger to when it fires now??

change the dwv parts, large pilot volume, and the barrel slopes up(get a barrel support).

You should put some kind of support between the barrel and the air tank.
If I were to paint it I would use spray-on truck bed liner paint...That stuff is not just paint ,its a protective coating.....You can only get a few colors in the store I think white or black...maybe red ....I would use black....
