My holy grail is a semi autamatic hybrid but I have no idea how I will achieve that.

hammer valved semi auto pellet gun in the 20ft/lb range. Or cartridge feed pneumatic system.

Electronic automation. That would be the most cost-effective and straight-forward way to do it.

My holy grails are as follows:
A double-barrel side by side, 2 inch, pre-charged cartridge fed grenade launcher.
And a half-auto, pre-charged cartridge, cal .75, combat rifle, fed from a 8 round En Blanc clip. (Think M1 Garand)

I want to make a really really accurate sniper rifle out of steel. I'm want to try using a round like the APFSDS dart type of thing since I don't think rifling steel with my tools is entirly possible.
But yeah, I also want to make a self contained semi or full automatic system too.
I'll try the sniper, and then see where I am from there...

Mine would be a fully automated hybrid.

My goal is pretty simple, just to put all of my stuff on a nice web page. I just can't get myself to sit down and write the content.

As far as actually doing spud gun stuff goes. I think I have enough completed ideas to keep me busy all year. I just need the money and time to build the stuff.

A really nicely done copper that operates around 300 PSI, clip fed, and with an on board power supply, so it can be semmi. Also I have thought about the precharged cartridges, but have blanked on how to make them work.

What you would do is hook up a high-pressure chamber, (on the order of around 300 PSIG or so), to a homemade piston valve or a Q.E.V., (if you think it will last long enough for many shots). One way to do this would be to not have the pilot valve exhaust to the atmosphere, but exhaust into a small expansion chamber. Of course, if you desired it to be "true" semi auto, you would have to find a way to synchronize your pilot valve and the expansion chamber exhaust valve to work together, so it only takes on operation from you to fire and reseal, and be ready to shoot again.

I don't have any single holy grail, I have a myriad things on my list of things to do. Working out a design, and how it would be built is easy - but I am let down by the size of my wallet.

Gauss guns, plasma cannons, combustion miniguns... my list goes on.

I think that if I had to put them in order, all of my plans for where I can go with a huge chain of mods for HEAL is pretty high up my list - I have many wonderful theories, but HEAL is . I'm making small changes one by one, and the main body is mostly done, but I haven't exhausted the possibilities of the interchangeable barrels and loaders.

In the end I hope to have a barrel with a semi-auto magazine feed, a separate rifled barrel, and be able to run a carefully regulated 30 bar through the system, possibly with improvements to piloting to get more consistent results.
Talking about DYI's aim to get similar power from spudguns and firearms, but for now, I will be happy with getting the power of a .357 Magnum for something the length of a Barrett, bore of a shotgun, and weight of a large assault rifle.

select fire belt fed 1.5" gun has been postpone so I can catch up with power ever since I meet the dwv ball valve gun that shot an apple 600fps Ive been a shamed and I must beat it so I'm planing a big @$$ gun with a 6" chamber and a 4" tee piston valve and/or a supersonic 1.5" burst disk pneumatic rated for 3000psi

a 1/2" self contained semi auto pistol would be cool I'm thinking propane fueled and mechanical chamber sealing valve don't know why but just to get the most from the air

400psi, .177 bb, full auto, adjustable ROF, 7 1/2" rifled steel barrrel, 5" tall pistol.

i have two worn out 24" .17 Remington 1:9 twist heavy barrels that just need to be re-rifled. one will be cut down for two barrels(7 1/2" & 12") while the other one kept at 24".

anyone of you kids have any extra cash? after your projects are done, of course.

I don't think there's anyway that I could have measured amounts of air powering a few shots off unless I use a Hammer Valve, because I don't want to be hooked up to a larger air chamber or a constant air source.
