You went off and bought a valve just because it was a tempting buy and now have to think of what the heck you're going to do with it.

Design first then purchase
I have had four of them for around a year... high end aluminum 1.5" Goyen diaphragm valves... and I still don't have a use.

Still, when they retail at over $100, I really was left with no other choice than to buy

thanks dewey, thats what i figured but wasn't sure. If i come up with any plans i'll post them probably this weekend.

EDIT: Velocity, do the Goyens perform better than the ASCOs? Also what makes yours high end? Being able to stand higher pressures or do they have better flow or opening time?

So you can fill from the chamber?

That would help my design alot aesthetically.

Actually since there are the little bleed holes in the diaphram you could do it either way. It wouldn't matter either way.

Would you mind sharing your design MrCrowley? If you wanted someone to build it I would be willing since you don't have a valve and i have yet to make plans. but if you don't i'll respect that and make my own design.

EDIT:are you sure about that dewey? i was pretty sure it wouldn't make a difference. Have you tried it?

LikimysCrotchus5 said he may sell one of his to me, if not there's someone else who may sell one.

It's nothing special, just my own version of a nerf launcher from a youtube video posted in a topic here not that long ago.

Except it will have few design changes.

Though I can't go CO2 like the guy in the video did, my budget is too tight. I'm even ordering some 2" PVC fittings from sgort87 to keep the costs down on my end :P

Well most likely I will, as even with shipping costs it's going to come out cheaper.

Why try to fill through a small equilization hole and put undue stress on the diaphragm when it was not designed to be used that way.
So it could be done but isn't advisable. I make sure to include that in my plans

EDIT: MrCrowley i think i know what gun you're talking about. Wasn't it all black, breechloading, and it was posted because someone to know how he put the thing on the back on? If that's the one it will turn out great if you use the bigger valve (in the video i think it was a sprinkler) Glad you're getting everything cheap and i agree that CO2 is way too expensive

I did not say it is advisable. I stated to fill via the chamber only.
Sorry didn't read your post thoroughly enough

and BTW how do you get the quotes to read like this at the top
ex. "Dewey-1 wrote:"
instead of just "Quote:"

Well you click 'quote' from the top right hand corner of their post.

Or you can type
[quote ="username here"]message here[/quote

except finish that last part with a closing bracket like this ]
