How to make solid projectiles (the alternative method)

I have a question if we are talking about pellets:

In my newest gun GGDT predicts that a 7mm projectile would be best, but it is nearly impossible to get them, should I sacrifice 65fps and have the conventional .177 caliber pellets or should I make my own mold( or spend hours on end trying to find a supplier and then spending lots of money on the pellets)?

AFAIK there are .22 pellets too (or maybe even .25)

yes but anything above 7mm has a lower velocity again, and getting a pipe that will have a ID of 5.6, good luck eh?

there are no simple answers in spudgunning.. it depends complettely on what materials and tools you have access to and what you want to achieve

what you are saying is that everyone who uses different caliber than 7mm is wrong ??


getting a pipe with an ID of 5.6 mm doesn't seem as something difficult.. in fact I think it will be easier to get one decent barrel than to mold 5000 decent pellets.... do you get my point ??

Firstly, do i make such a dumb impression?! What i am saying is that because i built all of my cannon besides adding a barrel, thus choosing the caliber is the only way to still optimize my gun. Now Please tell me where the hell you think i might get a 5.6mm barrel?

ohhh now I know why 7 mm might be an optimal caliber...

if you want to stick to ready made pellets then you can use either 0.22 or 0.25 ones

now how to find a pipe with an ID of 5.6mm or 6.35 (or slighly larger) ??
ask everywhere - shops for hobbyists etc.

the best thing you can do is to use google and type things like 'pipe', '5.6mm' or '6.35mm' (or simply .22, .25), 'ID' etc.
of course it's a good idea to translate some of the names

I am sure you'll find something if you spend enough time...

-gulp- Ok here i go, i see it coming, ill decide to use .177 in the end, oh well...

EDIT: Ohhh i have an idea! I am planning to buy an old gun to use the stock, maybe i should use the barrel as well!

Its an old thread, but...

McMaster: Tubing: select .22" ID gives you a SS tube that withstands 3500psi (28" for just under $12), or a 7mm ID steel tube with 5400PSI max (about $10 for 1 meter length).
