It has a much better chance of working, because you're cutting off the air supply as the bolt moves forward. It's similar in principle to the idea posted
here.

at least the same volume as your barrel

you should be fine with 50-75 psi

Look likes the semi-auto design i posted a week ago :

It worked for me, i used a modded sprinkler valve, so it was 2 or 3 seconds before the valve would actuate correcly and the chamber would fill up at about 75 psi. The only way to make a semi-auto mecanism to work faster would be to only use a smal part of the air contained in the chamber.
