I got a 2" union. Was this a dumb move? Since it seems the bigger the union the more matieral used. No trigger, I wanted to keep it simple. I plan on using it as a mortar. I am gonna try soda can aluminum tommorow after it dries. It reynolds wrap the same as "Our Compliments"?

Getting a 2in union was not a dumb move it was a smart move.
It will get annoying going through so much burst disk material but it will be worth it with the increased flow and power.

Yah it was iffy, I plan on using it when I airsoft up in poconos....Now time to make some sort of releasing ammo..

Some new 2" disk results:

32 layers: ~260 psi
40 layers: ~340 psi

But I saw some mention of PVC, so you probably won't be going that high anyway.

I've only ever used "Our Compliments", and I don't know how thick Reynold's wrap is in comparison. You'll have to test it yourself. I really don't have much experience on the <150 psi side of things anyway.

Getting a 2 inch union might have been a good idea. But was getting a 2 inch tank and barrel smart?

as long as your chamber is large enough and your barrel long enough.
Is this pvc we are talking about?
A 1.5in union would be suffeicent for this setup ans would need less material so it would be fine if you switched to it.

Yes its pvc.. The chamber is about a foot.. maybe 10 inches.. the barrel.. 2 feet.. Is that any good?

Oh then a 1in union would be sufficiant.
I was guessing that the chamber was like 3ft or something.
With a chamber that small I would recommend a smaller barrel to like 1.5in and under because in a 2in the ammo just wont get to enough speed for it to be worth it.

Wait. I am gonna keep the same union because I already solvent welded the union to the chamber. I think I will just use a 1 inch barrel. Its kinda better I guess.

sure that would work but you will continue to use a lot of material that wouldnt be nessesary with a 1in union.
what I would do is cut off the 2in union with enough pipe left on it so that you can solvent weld it to some other much larger gun that would require it that you may make in the future.
annd then glue on the reduce bushing and the 1in union.

I will do that after I try this bad boy out. But bad news is that I had to get a 1.5 piece of pvc for the barrel cause they don't carry 1 inch... its like 3 feet long.
