This idea has been noted several times before, but not many people got to it.

Good idea you wouldnt want any flying shrapnel or exploding barrels.
Well I just realized that I have no computor program that can make animations. I do have microsoft paint if that is good enough for you.
And ouchprogramme Im not sure if it has been mentioned before or not but i dont really care it is a good Idea that is acheivable.

Paint would be fine, anything would work, for I am typically a visual learner.

probably wont be very clean because I dont use paint to often but should be understandable.

I think it's a great idea, but I really don't think that a co2 cylinder is going to go as far as you think. When I was in 8th grade in shop class we made co2 powered "rocket" cars, which worked along the same lines as your idea, the cylinder was in the back of the car and a machine would puncture the back of the co2 cylinder and it would make the car go down a track. The cars went pretty fast (about 6 seconds to go 60 feet) but that really isn't all that great for a gun.

Either way, it would be a cool project, even if the performance isn't all that great. I would say it's worth a try, just don't get your hopes too high.

To tell you the truth potatoflinger, I don't expect great resulats from this. Yet, if I put time, effort, and my mind to this, I think I can do it. Once I get the plans drawn up, I'll hed to the Home Depot and get som supplies. 8)

why do people still post stuff to photobucket. according to PCGUY every picture should be uploaded to spudfiles using the attachment deal just so that all the picture are here and will never go away. just thought i'd mention it

Because It is easier but if it matters that much I could use the spudfiles uploader.

Good, it's better to stick with an idea than to never try. You actually might get pretty decent results, now that I think of it, since you'll have a barrel that will let the gas build up behind the projectile. Come to think of it, you might actually get really good results, it's definitely worth a try. You would probably wind up with a gun that could shoot around 300-500 feet per second if you have a decent sized barrel.
