well this has inspired me to make my own grip but not out of bondo , out of wood.
I spent 30min with a dremel and saw to make it
and I mounted a blowgun inside it and attached a hose barb to the blowgun a a hose to that and a sprinkler.
Ill probably use it to make a sniper

Anyways
very nice how to Ill probably end up trying it if I can get my hands on some bondo.

There is a bondo specifically for use as a wood filler. My wag is that it is essentially identical to automotive bondo, perhaps with just a different coefficient of thermal expansion. Check you local hardware store in the paints section.

Be careful of "wood fillers", many are very soft and never really fully cure. You might try something like "DAP Plastic Wood".

Bondo's great stuff! Very nice Spuddin, that's an awesome idea. I was going to make mine of wood, but I think I'd actually prefer making mine out of Bondo.

Combine that with Davidvaini's idea of making the ergonomic grips, and one can make a great handle, not to mention other things. Thanks guys.

ever consider putting it on the band saw and cutting it in half right down the middle, then hollowing it out for installing momentary buttons, etc.?

or would it be to unstable structure wise? I'm not positive how brittle bondo is.

well actually i wasnt planning on finger slots when cutting it out until after i started sanding. your right it would save time and work.
btw i thought about coating it with resin or fiberglass if it ends up breaking. fiberglass is great stuff, i used to work in a fiberglass plant and we made many different things with it, awesome stuff.

you know the best thing for making wood grips is a router with a bit for making curved edges, man the curves a router can make is just so awesomely perfect

does bondo bond to pvc? cause i read a bunch of bondo cans.. and it said nothing about that..

negative on that scottcrete, it will stick but snap off easy. unless you use bondo as a plug inside a pvc pipe then it will work as long as you use pvc cement, i've done this before and still holding.
