wrapping it in kevlar might save you from an explosion, but it'd be cheaper to go with metal

I found a girl that is perfect, she bought me my most recent airsoft gun as a birthday present and she fully supports my spuddin, and she is really hot :D

Also, im not sure how much of a noob you are but just incase... Make sure that the peices you use arnt DWV.. make sure they either say schedule 40 or NSF-PW.

Wow, when my girl came to my house, she thought i had real guns in my room, and flipped! Well, i dont have to worry about that biatch any more... :)
I think you should just go for the sprinkler with the mod cause it is probably even easier than messing with that solenoid wires to begin with.

Most of my girls have been indifferent to my hobby, although one thought it was kind of cool.

As far as saving yourself from shrapnel: to capture the essence of what others have said, it's possible, but not practical. Steel pipe can easily contain PVC shrapnel, but then you could have just made the chamber from steel in the first place... A strong carbon fiber or kevlar wrap might do the same thing, but it really isn't worth it for the hideous costs involved.

Making the air chamber the stock often constricts airflow, and reduces its energy. As a rough yardstick, a single 90 degree elbow will slow down flow about as much as 100 feet of equivalently sized pipe. But really, it won't be that much of a decrease. So if you want pipe with extremely dangerous failure characteristics which the manufacturers incessantly warn you not to use with compressed gases braced against your shoulder, filled with compressed gas... Go for it. It'll alter your face just slightly more efficiently in the form of a stock than what it would in the traditional configuration.

Although kevlar is bullet proof, it's not rip proof. Kevlar is like a strong silk, it rips very easily. Denim is a much better option than kevlar, and that's been put out too :P

And thanks for all the help guys, I've decided not to use the stock as the chamber now, but now I need a way to block off air from going into the stock, does anyone know what I could use for an effective rubber stopper?

And my girlfriend loves playing with fire, she's played with a friend's combustion spudgun heaps of times :P

Blocking your stock off can be as simple as a pvc knockout cap. They usually sit flush inside the pvc pipe. Just make sure your stock is completely airtight, the caps are usually only rated for 60psi and will blow out if your stock isn't airtight. An epoxy plug will work well on smaller diameters. For larger diameters you can also use sheet pvc and cut it to fit. Mr. Crowley has a how to for making larger plugs, search for it.

I've just got to ask again at what pressures did they test the denim blue jean blast shield...the actual burst pressure for sch 40 4inch PVC pipe is past 250 PSI given that most people don't take it to more then 150-200 PSI I wouldn't think an explosive failure would be a huge risk even if it did explode 150 PSI is a lot less of a bomb then say 400 PSI...which is by the way is within the limits of 1 inch PVC pipe...not recommended but possible.

The probably pressurised it to typical compressor pressures, then dropped it on a hard surface, as that would be the most likely cause of failure without over-pressurisation.

And I think the point many people are against pressurised stocks is that when you drop it a long pipe is mechanically way weaker then one big pipe.

might?

it most definitely will. there's no question whether it will or not, the stuff is bulletproof.

anyway...where did you get that animation in your sig?

Does your signature break any of the signature rules?
- Graphics may not contain any quick repeated flashing that would cause an annoyance for the casual viewer.

If not, keep it.

Personally, I will continue to block it no matter how many times you resize it.

meh, i don't think it is quick flashing, that is annoying, i see that sort of thing as those things on popup ads and crap. his is more subtle pulsing than flashing. I say keep it.

STHORNE- well no snow yet really!!! fingers crossed!!

the flashing isn't really that quick, and its technically not really flashing, the shadow fades in and out..
