I got a 20 lb bag of jumbo potatoes at walmart for $3, each weighs about a pound... everyone of em is more than 2" in diameter, and some are about 10" long, so almost all of them can be cut in half to make for two rounds.

Just do a search for them, thats how I did it. A lot of them for sale, the more you buy, the better deal you can get.

How well do those balls fit in 1" PVC...too much slack or tight? I just bid on a smaller batch of 150.

They all very slightly, but roll down on there own but not fast. Just enough air gets by to let them roll. I'd say just right.

I got my golf balls on Ebay. I believe it was 700 for $40 and $40 for shipping. Comes out to a total of about 11.5 cents per ball including shipping. They were in pretty good condition too.

Im quite happy with it
Also I got a crapload of ~28mm marbles from my work.
