hmm the tube in a m72 is 40mm correct? if so then thats around 1.5 inches which is too small for the mini nerf rockets which are 2". people have duck taped or shaved off some of the nerf rocket.

its actually around 66mm. The 2" pipe fits in fine but the fittings do not. That, among other things, is the biggest problem spot.

i really like the last on even though its really basic, its the best design i think for a rocket launcher.... all concealed with-in the plastic or metal chanber..
hope any of this helps

First off, thank you all for the advice. I really appreciate the help.
Second off, anybody attempting to do something similar to this with an inert m72 I want to warn that it is EXTREMELY difficult!
Now to the issue at hand. I went the coaxial route that was suggested early on.

I have everything in the drawing above assembled and the m72 tube gutted but i just cannot get the piston valve to work. I made the piston out of a 1" pvc cap wrapped in duct tape with a piece of gasket material to seal onto the inner barrel.
Since this picture was taken i changed out the gasket material for a better cut piece. The problem now is that i can rarely get the piston to seal correctly and even when it does the piston doesn't actuate when i empty the pilot.
After some research it seems that the reason it doesn't actuate right lies in the blowgun valve but because of the look and operation i want this launcher to have i really would prefer to use a blowgun over a ball valve or a sprinkler valve hanging out the back.
So is there anyway to compensate slower exhaust by using a lighter piston?
