Oooh duh. Yeah, that could be a problem... Have you tried powdered graphite?

What about lithium grease? Also, instead of using a drill press you could use a vice and a normal drill, that way you will have better control of how fast the valve is spinning. If the seal does melt a little bit, you could just add more grease, but if it melts a lot you're S.O.L.

Take off the nut holding the handle on. Take off the handle. There is going to be a brass hex nut visible. That's the packing nut. Back it off completely, then carry on as usual.

You mean that white plastic sh!t? If so, I already took that off. If not, I have no idea what the hell you are talking about lol. past the handle, there is no hex nut.

I have the same problem at the moment. I'll just sit here and wait for a solution. :)

don't we both  lol

Here, I took some pics of what it is/looks like after it has been modified. Maybe it will help you guys in some way..

If there really isn't a solution, I can just used a modified blowgun but would like a solution anyway since MrCrowley is having the same problem.

Btw, what's your's for MrC?

Ditch the ball valves, go to modded sprinkler valves! PM sgort87, he's like the ball valve king.

Side note, I'm moving this to Construction Meterials/Ammo Discussion, I'm surprised MrCrowley didn't.

This is for the exhaust/release of a QEV/Piston valve unit.

Sorry for the misunderstanding

EDIT: This doesn't look like the genral spud gun related section jrrdw lol. sorry bout posting in the wrong section, I just thought since it wasn't about a whole gun (or anything close), but rather a part of a gun (smaller than my finger), that it wouldn't qualify for being posted under the section of construction materials..

Exhaust valve :)

Didn't even bother to look, just automatically assumed it would be fine as STHORNE posted it

Edit: Does it belong in the 'Construction Materials/Ammo Discussion' section?
Also post about various materials used for building cannons.

I think PCGUY meant like PVC, ABS, brass, copper and metal...not cannon components.

You decide :)

lol, did I just ruin my rep? lol, was a miss judgement by my call, and by the time I realized it, it was too late (3 replies later). Thanks for moving it btw jrrdw.

Well, this ball valve is intended to be used in the construction of a cannon.

Why not exhaust the QEV with a blow gun? Should have enough flow.

I know it would have "enough" but not as much as a 1/4" ball valve...

but if all else fails, I'll use a modified blow gun i guess
