Thanks alot everyone

Sniper hero, when the gun is plugged in, I just stick my foot over the ball valve handle or something. If I was using a hose to attatch it, It'd be a totally different story.
What do you guys think? Keep it sawn-off or flip the chamber around and make an ergonomic "rifle" style gun?

I actually got to work on the co-ax today (a whole 20 min).

I'll update the thread, and put up a progress pic, probably this weekend.

How safe do you feel taking poly pipe to 300psi? Its just that I've never seen any pressure ratings on the stuff at Bunnings and from a while ago I thought the general consensus was it was safe for less pressure than 300. If its safe for 300 I am so using it on a gun instead of pvc. Don't suppose we know how poly fails either, ie whether it shrapnels or just tears?

How are ya mate,
I reckon you'd be fine taking the poly up that high. I've taken that gun to 225psi with no problems what so ever I've got some 25mm aluminium tube sleeved inside the poly to strengthen it up even more. I'd assume that it would just tear if it was to fail. I just got a fridge compressor so I'll do some tests on various poly pipe at extreme pressure and see how it handles.

Ahhhh yeh, the aluminium sleeving, may have to give that one a burl. It will be good to see some high pressure poly testing, would give us a general idea of its safety.

Atm I'm trying to work out a galvanized barrel sealer, the obvious problem is the inside of the gal T is really rough so I was thinking of just sleeving some pvc inside it (15mm pvc is a pretty good fit in 20mm galvanized pipe, at least i think its 20mm, can't remember off hand) for the piston to run smoothly in. I know I probably should use copper or pvc but I have this stuff in the shed already so I figure why not use it. So I'm just trying to get all the parts and assorted junk together and sorted, probably take some time what with a lack of funds but it may get done...eventually.

She should be good. The T shouldn't be the problem, it should be the piston housing (like a nipple behind the T). I use gal a hell of alot, and I found that using a brass nipple/fitting as a piston housing, it's absolutely great... and it cost's bugger all
