Hmmm.. Not feelin musical right now I'll post a better list later:

Ac/Dc Thunderstruck (of course)
Their Dirty Deeds also

-Metallica- seek and destroy (all their old stuff)
-Sword (can't remember the song now)
-Disturbed- Down with the sickness
-Blues Traveller (they sound cool)
-Kiss- I love it loud (good cannon play song)
-Haven't listed to them since they first came out but Twisted Sister---I wanna Rock (cool cannonplay song)
-Motorhead Most of their songs.
-Some of the old Iron Maiden (cool because they're higher pitched but sound mideval)
-Ozzy or Black Sabbath
-Testament
-Alot of classic rock (musical brain fart right now).
-I also like a lot of classical music too sometimes.

I like a lot of this type music which is funny because personnaly I consider myself a Christian.
So it may seem odd.
Perhaps it's because Cannonplay can be destructive and look like weaponry. And war is hell then religion comes at the end kind of thing I guess. I'll try to think of more. 8)

Maxus....you mean to say one band .... me thinks you could use some horizon broadening there my son....
 If you heard them, you'd actually believe that they are the God's of Music. I do like some Pink Floyd though.
Well, I have heard them.....they're certainly good at their craft. However, God's they aren't...not really that unique...typical shred.

No, the number is not too important, I just want people to be a bit selective rather than just copy out their entire music playlists.
I'll accept any reasonable number, 12 is just a nominal figure I chose.

If people want to try PMing me their ideas about what my theory is, then I'll PM them back to tell them if they're right.
I'll tell you this much, it's more about the bands than the songs, although the songs are not completely unimportant.

If you want, I'm not too fussed about it. I can still use the information for my theory, it's a close enough match as far as the data is concerned, and I'm not exactly conducting the world's most accurate survey here.

For one thing, if I were really doing a good survey, picking a forum for a specific interest almost exclusively populated by males doesn't make for a representative sample. :P

Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley
Ozzy Osborne - Revelation (Mother Earth)
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
Dire Straits - Sultan of Swing
The Animals - House of the Rising Sun
Quiet Riot - Trouble
Quiet Riot - Metal Health
Skipknot - Eyeless
Buckethead - Soothsayer
Rob Zombie - Living Dead Girl
Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys
Iron Maiden - Flight of Icarus

Some of those would change over time. Like JSR, I have favourite songs 'at the moment'. I actually name my playlist 'Current Songs'. Which mean my favourites aren't necessarily in it, but the songs I like at that time would be.

Though i'm positive on Mr. Crowley, Free Bird, House of the Rising Sun and Soothsayer.

Edit: Actually just give me Randy Rhoads Tribute LP on vinyl and a record player and i'd listen to that. :D

One thing i can say. RAP is CRAP.

Eric Clapton: LAyla One More car, One more rider
Eric Clapton: Tears in Heavan, One more Car, One More Rider (Written for my namesake)
George Harrison: Here Comes The Sun
Eagles: Hotel california
Phil Collins: You'll Be In My Heart, Tarzan
Steely Dan: Kid Charlemagne
Goo Goo Dolls: Iris
Eric Clapton: Cocaine, One More Car, One More Rider

I had the fortune of seeing clapton live on the fourth. I was less than 20 yards from the stage at the Tweeter center (now comcast center). Robert Randolph opened for him and the concert was phenomenal. He made a new song for his aunt harriet. She had tourrets and her "Impulse" was "fuck" and "eddie", which i found out with much hilarity. A medley at the end of the show of LAyla and Cocaine was AWESOME. CLAPTON IS GOD!

Like that wasn't going to be at the top of the list... :P

I'll quite agree on the "favourites at the moment" policy, my favourites change over time.
The live version of Sultans of Swing on my list wouldn't have been there if I'd asked the question a few weeks back... I just recently decided to try listening to a few live versions of a few bands' tracks, and that proved to be one of the best pieces I have ever heard - with several whole minutes of fantastic guitar playing tacked on to the studio version.

Not to say I don't like the studio Sultans of Swing, but it probably wouldn't have made my list.

Most of the things on that list are things I will always really like, it just depends on how much I like them at any given time. Things that were close runners up for the list were artists like Nightwish, Megadeth, and Muse.
There's also a local band I rather like that I listen to quite a lot.
