if that bolt hits the nail in, what kind of veloity would it have if it were to hit a bb?

If the performance of my coin launcher was anything to go by, not much. Given the way the piston functions, you're better off with a much heavier projectile if you're going to use it like that. Otherwise, you can remove the nail piston and wed the trigger and firing piston assembly to a blow-forward breech, like I had attempted to do here.

Consider buying a cheap nailgun off ebay and hacking it apart, they accomplish pilot emptying/refilling functions with a single valve.

Done that.

They're not very usefull for this.They dont exhaust the air in a way it could fire a projectile.
The air pushes a plunger and keeps the plunger fully ...ehhm..pushed, while some air is leaking passed it.The bulk of air, not leaking is keeping it forward.Once you release the trigger, the airleaking passed the piston pushes it back.
I'm horrible at describing this in English, but anyway, it's useless.

right i have no idea where to buy a 1/4" compression T in WA lol

the only thing i found was a white plastic one for washing machines.
