Why not just keep it simple? I wouldn't be that surprised if you could put a 700m/s center punch through 3/4" steel, considering that I put a rather large diameter one through 1/4" at only 200m/s or so. At 700, you'd have more than 12 times the energy going against 3 times the thickness.

Good luck on getting into the record books, just remember you wouldn't be there very long :wink:

it is a good spud gun and i know the guy who owns it..

but it can't do a 1" steel plate
