I thought that only happened to me..Ive had that happen alot..I would be better off going behind the counter and doing it my self.

Well let me give a few more details since the capabilities of my only camera (phone) are pretty limited. The side that looks threaded is, in fact threaded. But not to NPT standards. I screwed a 1.5" pipe cap on until the pipe hit the inside of the cap. It was screwed in all it could go, and I could still "wobble" the cap. Also the threads look like he took it out back and kicked it around in the parking lot a few times.

Now for the real treat. The other side looks like it doesn't have any threads on it. But it does. Threads like no man has seen before. I dug around at work for a tap with a thread pitch close to that, just to see what it might be. Its almost 32 threads per inch. Incredible. A machine designed to thread only standard pipe fittings had produced a magical fine thread/crap thread nipple. Revolutionary, some might say.

What I think happened is he cut it twice with the same die and just got lucky that the second pass fell in between his first. I actually have this jewel on display in my room.

Man, this thread is depressing. I just don't understand how someone could try to pass that off as an acceptable threading job.

Did the guy (kid?) look "special"?

I think the employee should be held responsiable for the job he or she has done. Just in case the costomer was hurt do to the $hity job they did.
If I were you, I would take back the pipe and show the supervisor and get a refund or somthing. It cant hurt to try.

Haha he seemed almost normal to tell you the truth. But from now on, I look at all their employees with new eyes...

I am sure that most mentally handicapped employes would do it perfectly.. the guy is just an idot that's all

Haha I had a deformed 1/2''X1/2''X3/4'' copper tee on my first shocky because I didn't check it. sucks but anyway you should fill it with epoxy and fire it at the store.

wow that sucks the guy must have been on something. i got a fitting from OSH once. that was cut off center, so badly i couldn't use it. now i eyeball the heck out of every piece of hardware i get.
