I would do what you said POLAND but i actually found the compressor so i never saw it inside of a fridge.

Im curious as to how to hook everything up to it?

What exactly do i need to hook up to the air outlet. Such as guages, release valves, etc.?

I used a compression fitting on mine... but you can solder it, use epoxy... etc.

IMO compression fittings are possibly the best option here as they allows to disconect the compressor and the rest of the stuff easily...

then you have to add several Ts to it to attach gauges and the rest of the stuff you want to have on your compressor...



you can also clamp and air hose directly on the air outlet and then connect it with the fittings & the rest of the stuff

there is a multitude of options here


Normally there are 3 cables coming out of the compressor - 2 colored ones (brown and blue on mine) - 'live' and 'neutral'
and 1 black one - ground (it seems that black color is normally used to mean 'ground')

I think that 2 black ones on your compressor are both ground and one of them of hooked up to chasis of something like that... if yours works ok then I don't see any problem....

ohh BTW it's good to add pics when you ask such questions - your drawing doesn't tell me anything... a low quality pic taken with a mobile phone or something like that is better than no picture at all

I laughed at that last thing about the picture because i went out to take a pictutre with my phone but decided it was too poor quality to post and then drew up the diagram.

When i get home i will get a picture up.

Just so you know, when i hook either of the black wires up to my ground wire, the compressor starts up and then goes off after about 5 seconds. But when i unhook the black wire it runs without stopping.

yeah ive seen the oil problem b4 and it happens with older machines. just break it in again and if the black wires arnt affecting it then you shouldnt need them. just trim and insulate em'!

Then keep em unhooked!
Make sure to insulate them well.

Sadly no i have not yet. Ive been a little tight on money. But i will deffinetely get it up and running as soon as i can.

finally got me a new one.
It´s about half the size and weight of the first one, but it fills faster and to a higher pressure...still need to find out when it maxes out..
35 bar ( 500 psi) sure is no problem...

I'm betting it'll do 50 bar...

I am thinking about getting one from a fridge but i can get a ac compressor for free from my friend. And the question i have is how heavy are these fridge compressors? I have moved about 15 ac compressors the other day onto a trailer and that was some serious work. Those ac compressors must have each weighed 60 to 80 pounds apiece. I was amazed...

The fridgey I have here weighs about 15-20 pounds.

It doesn;t come with an airtank, fittings or gauges.
Plus the compressor itself is smaller.

A regular compressor gets you 100, possibly 200 psi.

A fridgey gets you over 500..
Just slower.

Alright, i guess 15 pounds is very workable with. I wanted a portable box like killjoy's with it in there so if i go to a friends house, i can just plug her up. Air conditioner compressors are out of that criteria. :shock:

the oil coming out of it is to stop the piston seizing up, it the same as an air con compressor on a car but just runs colder, unless you oil it regulaly with the correct oil it will seize in time
this will be hard as most systems are closed loop so oil just runs in the pipework and it works fine, the only problem is the oil them compressors use will absorb moister in the air and lose its lubricating properties and thus compressor fails again,
dont get any water in the pump or it will fail
