You can also buy the "lock-on" type fill valves.

scroll down to part #s 6146A21 (standard, 1/4" barb) or 6140A61 (locking, 1/4" barb)

The locking one is kind of expensive at $9.34. So MrCrowley's idea of buying a cheapo pump (like a bycycle pump) and chopping the valve of it is a good one.
