Hmm. That makes me actually want to try it, as a case costs about $50 anyways.

I think there's a good chance the fridge will have a hard time keeping up with the continued heat being generated inside. It ususally only deals with passive and submissive thermal loads...not one that continues to generate heat on its own.

Just as impractical if not more so. Magnificant and affordable cooling products for CPUs have matured these days and times. There's no reason not to use them.
