I rigged it up good with more chewing gun like, testing in a few hours after work. The piezo is a bit tired though, if this doesn'twork I'll buy two new lighters and rig up a twin sparker mechanism with a common button. I cannot afford to fail at simple combustion, dude! srsly!

Well my previous big combustion was perfectly servicable, but with my limited facilities I didn't look up a suitable threaded fitting this time around.

i can't understand why you don't just make a camera cap/coil setup. wire it nicely in a box made out of Jack's (tonio's) materials and run two wires out of it.

perfect ignition for every gun you could think of.

but yes, I need to make a new ignition setup. As far as I can tell, BBQ ignitors use the same piezos as cigarette lighters so I doubt it would make a difference. What I want to do is get some decent ones as the one I used was from a pretty old lighter, and make a double mount.

Also, I'm going to cut down the chamber a little, it's a bit too loud for my tastes.

Small footnote, this has encouraged renewed interest in the idea of combustion cartridges, hmmm...

That sucks that you have to cut the chamber down, i like to have a c:b ratio around 7:1 . Especially for smaller calibre spuddies, the flame is a burnin a loooong time after the projectile has left the barrel, looks cool at night!!

Small footnote: Make a suppressor, you make ones for your plinkers so why not one for this?? Hey...... Hey......

Looks cool but attracts too much attention, not what I'm going for. Making a suppressor on this scale would be an interesting design exercise but I don't have much epoxy left so chopping off a couple of centimetres from the chamber will have to do.

I also need to look around for some sort of threaded part I can incorporate into the base, to make the chamber and ignitors accesible and help with venting.

You could use one of those plastic ball valve thingies for venting and if it was big enough it could make for access to the chamber... maybe?

What the weather like in Spain anyway? More important is it jam packed full of hot chicks?

It's actually quite cold, I'm up North so it goes down a little below zero at night. In terms of chicas, the ones that are nice are really nice, but what amazes me the most is how well they age, the amount of MILFs I work with beggars belief!

Anyways, combustions, yes... Well, version 1.1 is currently curing. What I did was hack a 35 litre drum apart in order to have a screw-on endcap. Granted, these things aren't pressure rated, but it originally contained 98% sulphuric acid so it's pretty tough stuff (quite a chore to hack up anyway) and besides, most of the surface is reinforced with epoxy.

I got my hands on a new ignitor that's now cast into the cap, ladies and gentlement, I give you ADJUSTABILITY<SUP>TM</SUP>

To be tested tomorrow, I'll keep you posted
