I'd love to get together for a proper "shoot the crap out of whatever stuff we put down range" thing.

Target guidelines for the day were "no glass". That's it. We were gonna take an ancient computer tower with us, but my Bro decided at the last minute to leave it at home. He was kicking himself all day...

Oh, by the way, I'm not surprised those extinguishers failed inspections with all those bullet holes in them.

lol. Let me tell you, that range is in no danger of wildfires...


hi, I've been lusting after a K31 for a little while now, but I never have cash when one is available.

I can't remember the last time I did static shooting with a rifle. For three years it's all been action shooting, and the only static shooting I've done is one trip to Red's to do some mag feed testing. I have an old Henry .22 I got when I was 7 that I want to take out and shoot, it hasn't been fired in at least 6 years.

But I'm content with the Galil my Dad has. I use it at carbine matches, he has his Bushmaster. He's also got an M1 carbine he bought around 30 years ago from a buddy for $45. Best part; it's G.I. Postal Meter, too. Needs some new parts, but he'd practically give it to me as my own. He doesn't care for it much, but it is my favorite rifle in the world.

And I can drive TACKS with that .22 when it's sighted right, that that was six years ago, before any real training besides 'line it up and squeeze slowly', which got thrown out the window completely when I started shooting IDPA. Now it's 'GET THE D*MN SLACK OUT AS FAST AS YOU F*CKING CAN, AND I MEAN RIGHT THE F*CK NOW'. (And you can quote ol' Lynn on that. Best training you can get anywhere, half of his training is getting rid of the crap they get taught at blackwater and guncite and the like.)

.22LR is fun as heck. My Dad has an old Remington Model 514, a single shot youth model with a good heavy barrel, and the only thing keeping me from putting down a ragged hole at 50 yards is the iron sights. The front sight totally covers the inner rings of a target at anything past about 30 yards. Eventually, I'll browbeat Dad into selling it to me so I can put a scope on it.

Every time I mention a scope to him, he either says he doesn't want to waste the money on a single-shot, or goes on about finding a set of factory peep-sights(which I've seen, and they're garbage...).
