Since you want the magnetic field at its strongest behind the projectile, it would be a good idea to insulate the first couple inches of rail. Otherwise when it hits the rails, there won't be any conductor behind it (Remember powerlabs did this).

Also, are you going to stick a big inductor on there? It might avoid rail damage somewhat.

I might try inductor later.
I totally forgot about the insulating =( wish you said that earlier. I pushed it all together and can't get it open =/ I will try add it, but if that doesn't work, hopefully the injector carries it enough.
