Neither.

I picked up spud guns because I was (for a brief period in my late 20s) into paintball scenario games.

uh... I kinda figure it would be a ballistic missile engine of some type, not a shuttle. If it was an actual shuttle engine (not a booster), I don't think those cement(?) barricades would still be there afterward.

Thats a big load cell. I am getting one that is 8" long and 5" diameter, and it only goes up to 20,000 Pounds.

You might be surprised. A lot depends on construction, etc. In other words....

I've got a load cell that's probably 12" in diameter and 18" long and it's good to 50,000 pounds.

I've got another load cell that's probably 6" in diameter and 12" long and it's good to 500,000 pounds.

Go figure.

It turns out it was changed to one that can actually measure dynamic force's, so now its 5,000 pounds, and like 1 inch in dia =) The smaller one is piezoelectric tech.

Not exactly a desk job, eh? I'll bet you rarely dread having to come into work.

On the subject, what sort of degrees do you hold that enabled you to get such a fine job?

Nothing special, just a BSME.

Ironically, big red buttons are mostly used as emergency brakes/shutdowns instead of start buttons.

D_hall isn't supposed to discuss it directly, but I guess I can (so long as he has no objections)...

To my knowledge, it was funded and scheduled several months ago, and is under construction as we speak. The original dimensions haven't changed too drastically. I believe the barrel is 40' x 29" diameter(?).

Planned mix is somewhere between 1.5 - 2x, using a manometric meter, 7 or 9 gaps, and presumably some type of fan system.

There will be a press release of some sort after it's built and tested, at which point he'll be able to share all the details.
