Nice drawings! Can you give us the "massprop" on the lead portions so we can determine weight. I'd like to be shooting 100-110 gram lead rounds.

What's the point of these shells? Might as well use round lead balls.
These are going to tumble like crazy unless you fire them from a rifled barrel. That nice point won't do anything since it won't be pointing in the right direction 99% of the time in flight. For 50% of the time they'll be flying sideways and might as well be cubed shaped.
To get them to be areodynamiclly stable you'll have to drill out the base a lot. Probably need to drill out nearly the entire length of the shell at something like 75% the outside diameter to get the center of drag far enough behind the center of mass. (The piddly little string hole won't make much difference.)

I would suggest threading a cloth tail through the hole (placing the center of drag behind the center of gravity) and firing at high pressures to stabilize them.
I've got a bunch of these at home; I'll make a video if you guys want.

It is more of a conceptual drawing and not even fishing sinkers!
It just looks like sinkers. You can not see how hollowed out the inside is.
Of course CP and CG have to be accounted for to create an aerodynamically stable projectile. It is also possible to include fins made of thin polycarbonate.
If you would like I can put balls on it.

Well, I tried attaching a tail. This is what happened.
I don't think I even need to upload the video: the tail kept it from tumbling end over end, but it still didn't fly completely straight (as shown from the shape of the round after impact).
I'm thinking someone with a better gun and a more subjective way of testing this should probably try it. I might experiment with different types of tails if I have the time.
Damn! Now you've got me looking for subliminal messages in these forums...

Thanks for the info; Maybe if someone has a gun that they can take to higher pressures, they could test your theory...
I think I'll still keep these in mind for my HPA gun coming up, though.
Edit: I wonder if a muzzle loader sabot might help...

A bullet shape doesn't make something will "fly like a bullet". The
barrel makes it "fly like a bullet".
