Inappropriate thunderlord.

Try looking through McMaster for things such as barrels, valves and pressure reservoirs. They have a large selection of raw materials.

It is ok for someone to machine components and partially assemble my cannon(the things that i don't have the machinery to do myself) as long as it was built under my design and i have proof that it was. And i am going to try to start this project as early as i can. If anyone can help me with design and machining(i have lots of design ideas) just send me a pm. Note that i will not need help with the latter for a while.

You might find somebody to do it but be aware you will need solid plans for them to machine off or make cad's.

Everything needs to be covered in them but you need to do much more research

That will actually be a large part of the project diagrams specifications and such i spent most of the day researching and came up with many ideas.

Well it was inappropriate then.
Atleast I got a "Wow" though! :P (Plus it was "politically incorrect" considering all going on in "US history" 8))
I was on a bus and a girl had her hair covered, but all tight clothes (Who's looking at her hair?) and that came to mind as a YMBASI was all.

The part about buying one, I mentioned because it's the only use of the thread other than a major "spoonfeeding" session.
The rest was serious,good reply IMO. 8)
EDIT: It must've been good, I got 5 spud bux. :P

Heres an idea a coffee can sized chamber of aluminum with a 2 inch diameter hole there is a piston that seals the chamber when the piston goes back the air is realeased. So the valve and the chamber is a single unit. If you dont understand imagine pulling a plug in a bathtub.

yes some thing extremely similar to the one shown but being actuated by a pneumatic piston for the fastest opening speed possible.

yes some thing extremely similar to the one shown but being actuated by a pneumatic piston for the fastest opening speed possible.
That one is pretty fast. The initial opening is by impact, much like a pool cue striking a cue ball. After that the rest of the opening is finished by the full chamber pressure on the face of the piston. They don't get much faster than that.
Pneumatic operation would most likely be slower.

Yes but i am figuring out a way to open the valve by a button or a trigger so i dont have to open it manually.

I think i understand like a pinball machine plunger? but that would only close the valve.

you're right about it being like a pinball plunger, but you have it in the wrong place...
