You should include that the diaphragm would be damaged, to make him feel safe
Staying with air would be a better idea
Gases on its own like that have to COST something, while air is, EVERYWHERE(almost). And whats more its free.

The energy needed to compress it isn't though
even if you're using a hand pump, the energy has to come from somewhere. Nothing is free, not even Tibet.

The energy from using a hand pump comes from that hyped up spudder who just can't wait to fire his/her creation
