I had to take a break from this hobby for a bit in order to pursue more important things (school, money, women, blah blah blah) and I've recently got some free time open up and have been playing with my old toys.
I'm wondering two things really:
1. What advances have been made in the last year? Any fun new ideas people have come up with?
2. What should my next project be? I've already got a very solid combustion that has lasted all this time, a simple double bust disc dart gun, a pretty little airsoft cloud and a not quite working inline pneumatic with a piston valve. What should i do?
I've always loved this community and im hoping to jump back into my favorite hobby
There are lots of advances in the last year. I joined.

So has lots of other people. Welcome back.
In the past year there have been advances in high speed video so some members have some high speed video online.
Things to do.. study your failures and either fix them or learn from them to make a better one.
Care to share your inline pneumatic? Maybe we can help, or tell you why to scrap it.

Thanks for everything this far all very useful. Jackssmirking youre one of the few names i still recognize and i must say following your links made me realize how much ive been missing
these awesome diagrams!!!.
As for my inline... i cross threaded the hole for the release valve so it always had a slow leak. Also back when i made it I was stupid enough to put a bolt straight through the middle of the wooden piston without threading it. The air basically could leak right through the back of the piston into the barrel and i didnt realize this until a few uses. I also never found o-rings that fit a 2" pvc barrel i looked everywhere and just couldn't find anything that would work. I know o-rings aren't needed but i really wanted them. it was basically a mess of a project that im considering just scraping and leaning from my mistakes.
I have a 1" sprinkler laying around that i think i should put to good use. Anything new come up with regards to modding those or cannon shape?
