The energy in a light piston will be essentially the same as in a heavier one.
Energy is force times distance - and given the forces will be (more or less*) the same, and the distance will be the same...

*Okay, the faster piston means you have to account for Bernoulli, but the effects of that are small at the speeds we're talking about.

Essentially, a piston in a given valve (at a given pressure) always attains the same energy when opening. The trick is to get as much velocity as you can for that energy, which is done by lowering the mass.

if u mean as in the projectile? it was a marble perfect fit in a 3/4 barrel.
