This still makes it a revolver since the barrels are not being reloaded as part of the cycle, so it's more like a "pepperbox" revolver:

Still, that's just nitpicking about the name, another innovative project and good work :)

If you really want a gatling combined with the power of elastic, you could make a horribly overpowered version of this;)

Well, I guess that such a weapon would have to be put on a tripod, just like the original Gatling gun.

Doable, but do I really want a garden machine gun? The current slingshot is already bulky.

But I named it "Gatling" because the six tubes that hold the ammo really look like a Gatling, don't you think?
Ya, it is a minor nitpick. You've only got one barrel really since the "chamber" and "barrel" are the same thing. I would say it looks exactly like a 6-shooter. And, a "gattling" is fully automatic whereas a 6-shooter (and your gun) are semi-auto's.

I am starting to like this whole taking the slingshot to the next level thing. Once in a great while I will find videos that are just flat out fun and interesting, and your videos are indeed that. My immagination has been sparked a bit about making a sling shot myself, but I would want more power than I was capable of comfortably pulling back. I think what would end up happening is the evolution of some sort of lever retracted band system, kind of like a crossbow! But would it still be a slingshot?

Your guess is correct.

Not bad!

On your piece of rubber more or less how much force does it take to draw. Also where do you get the rubber?
Last but not least, your grips on your slings are all really cool, what are they made of?

Man, it takes a ton of force, all that I can muster.

I use Thera Tube and Thera Band material, made by the Hygienic Corp., and I buy it on ebay.

For the grips, I use Fimo, a modelling clay that hardens in the oven. It is made for kids, but works great.

I see, ok then sounds like fun stuff. How do you connect the bands to the sling?

On the "W", it is easy. I welded about an 8 mm steel rod to the backside of each fork arm and squeezed the tube over it, then secured it (only as a precaution) with a bit of string.

your work is very nice.
Have you ever considered making a cam of some type similar to a compound bow to give your slingshots a significant let-off :?:
