But serious, I do pretty much all my work with a vice, hacksaw, drill (which clamped in the vice is an improvised lathe), hammer, pliers and a set of files.

This is one of the advantages of casting as opposed to having to machine tough materials.

A dull knife....
Not my favorite, but useful. Sharp enough t cut, yet dull enough so the edge doesn't break when you use it for other things (prying,screws, etc)
