That's basically what I'm going for, however before turning my attention the the trigger I'm going to make the vortex block assembly to see what sort of performance I can get from this.

Progress update, the vortex block is being made in a stainless tee, for those who fear it will blow up in my face :P still plenty of epoxy but the ball valve and barrel will be threaded on, and the tee itself will thread into one of these to connect to the HPA tank. It will probably be ready for low pressure testing by tomorrow, watch this space :)

Looking good, but how many bbs can you fit in that tee it looks pretty small

Seen as his bb's are 1mm in diameter, plenty.

That's for the sentry project, this one is in 0.177". There's space for about 500 BBs. Chamber and barrel attachment are curing, I'll test it at 450 psi on Monday and if that goes well I'll crank it up :)

I've also ordered a 48 cubic inch paintball tank...

Not going to take that chance, it will be baked at 50°C tomorrow for the duration of what is going to be a gruelling workday (definitely more than 8 hours ) before high pressure testing.

I actually have a younger sister who conveniently is a freshly graduated doctor :D

If it works ;)

I hope you informed her that Poland is a beautiful country ?

lol wouldn't it be nice to get a brand new fridge compressor shipped to your house + a bag full of DCV valves, high pressure tubing and fittings ?

:D

Are you suggesting that I prostitute my sister for pneumatic parts?!?!?!?!

...

I'll think about it :P :D

Here's the mockup of the prototype in the meantime:

nah if you really wanted parts you could go to your boss, beat yourself up, and get 52 weekly paychecks so you could have spud club every night of the week. :D

:D :D :D

I would discuss this further, but the first rule of Spud Club is...

:)

The tee is baking in the oven together with the sentry gun chamber, medium pressure testing later today if I manage to get home at a reasonable hour.

Hot dang... that's awesome!

It would be even more awesome if it worked  unfortunately the porting is too big and allowed the BBs to clog up in the ball valve same way the sentry gun did.

My first attempt at this had around 5mm porting through the valve so this was not an issue.

I still want my "overkill" HPA BBMG though, I can either build up the insides, use a 1/8" valve or again go for a "conventional" setup, at 45° with the 1/4" valve there's about double the flow of a 4.5mm barrel and doubtless better than I was getting from my pressure washer handle so this might be the best option.

2 fails in one evening and after a long workday, I really needed this  I'm off to bed.

At least they didn't blow up :D
