lol good point chinnerz, my brain has been living in sniper mode with my current project... you arent really going to be hiding with a vortex.... I vote for this!!!

AR-15 is the civilian designation, no burst/full auto, 16"barrel and it has a california legal grip
but its an awesome paint job! lol a member on another forum I'm on did it for his wife :-p

the ar 15 is not the "civilian" m16, it was the gun which was transformed into the m16, i will admit that i am not an expert with guns and all, but the original m16, also knows as Vietnam's gun, was a full automatic. not semi, not burst. i think that came in with the m16a3 or a2 not sure.
the AR 15 has a different looking front grip, from memory it was made from a brittle plastic. the barrel was a lot thinner, and it had a three prong muzzle break permanently attached to the barrel.
that is all from memory, need confirmation on that.....

As much as I love this idea, I think you could have gone a simpler, and more realistic route.
Jonny Boy had a really good idea here. If you were planning on cutting up an airsoft gun (what specific gun is it btw?), you might've wanted to do something like this instead.
Other than that little point, great job.
